Rubber Dummies – All You Need to Know!
Rubber Dummies are life size 3D torso targets. They are made exclusively in the USA from 100% recycled rubber. Our unique material composition allows the projectiles to pass through with minimal deformation and degradation, allowing the Dummies to “Self Heal” after every shot.
The Dummies have an outer “skin” that reacts to an impact providing the shooter with a, realistic, visual sense as to where the target has been struck. Resting the targets is quick and easy, providing a fresh surface for further abuse.
They are extremely durable and can be used over and over again. The Dummies are able to take 1000’s of hits from just about any caliber. Anything from 17HMR to 50BMG, bird shot to slugs and 22’s to 50S&W. Our Dummies can stand up to everything you fire at it. Rubber Dummies are great fun for Recreational Shooting, Self Defense Training and Tactical Training as well. Unlike steel targets our Dummies allow the projectiles to pass through them. This allows them to be shot at from Point Blank Range making the Dummies ideal for indoor ranges, close-up self defense training and “fire” house tactical facilities. Every hit can be easily and instantly seen regardless of how far away the shooter is.
Q. How many rounds will it take before it’s not usable?
A. Dependent on the caliber, shape of the projectile and the shooter’s grouping, the Dummies will, typically, last from 4,000 to 5,000 rounds.
Q. What calibers can we shoot at it?
A. The Dummies can be shot with everything from .17HMR to 50 BMG. Caliber is not as important as the shape of projectile. We recommend that you do not use hollow point or wad-cutter types of projectile as they have a “cookie cutter” effect on the target which will not “heal.” Shotguns loaded with Buckshot or Birdshot should be shot at a distance of 30 feet; dependent upon the shells and choke you use. Be cautious when shooting the Dummie with shotguns as the wadding may bounce back. Flat faced slugs and grazing the target will degrade the Dummie the fastest.
Q. How much does it weigh?
A. The Dummies weighs about 30 pounds. When completely assembled, the competed kit weighs close to 50 pounds.
Q. What is the stand made from?
A. The bracket is 3/8″ thick AR-500 plate to insure that it won’t be destroyed if shot. The pole is 3/4″ pipe. If hit, a replacement can be found at any local hardware store. The base is 1/8″ steel plate with holes in the corners to stake it down if need be.
Q. How do the Kill Shot Packets attach to the Dummies?
A. The Kill Shot Packets come with thumbtacks for each Kill Shot Pack in the box. You are able to tack them onto the back of the Dummie wherever you need.
Q. Can I hit or punch it?
A. Yes, use protective gear to avoid injury.
